and I was on my way to the Library to get Su Kiet's clothes for duty ... he pulled the door handle, and couldn't pull ... Tim tries too, and can't pull it ... both discovers that the library's locked ! good thing i decided to leave all of my stuff upstairs when I left for church on Sunday ...
also, got an SMS from Yuyuan that both of us had an NDP preview ticket each for this Saturday ... one ticket only ? can do what ? duh~

went back, took a nap ... reallie GOOD nap, before I realised that i had overslep ... supposed to meet JX 4:45pm at Yishun, and it was already 4:45pm ! immediately grabbed what i can think off and rushed out ...
on the train, i met Edwin, my primary schoolmate ... he's in the Air Force now, as TUAS ... didn't see JX at the mrt, and he didn't see me too ! wierd~ thought he had boarded the train, but he was still there ! so i waited for him at Khatib instead ...
wore my white unofficial PTI shirt (the one with the black cross-swords in front) today, and first score was a steal ! the disc was coming, but got intercepted by the opposition from someone else who was challenging one of our team-mates ... disc hits opponents right hand, richottes off and into the hands of Tim (who did a little slide thingy for style) ... what an opener ...
also there's BOB whom I met who sorta gave me tips throughout the game ... the people there are very friendly, and some could even remember my name ! amazing~
Weiliang went down for the pickup too from camp ... but didn't join the guys for dinner to accompany JX back ...
on my way back, had a sudden urge to get "Rum & Rasin" ice-cream ... a good search reveals nothing, so i settled for "Nuts About Chocolate" instead ... wanted to get Mutton Soup for dinner, but it's sold out ! so i guess that ice-cream will settle my dinner then ! *grinz*

afternoon's fine, and took a couple some shots for some gradutates over there ... played catching in the night with a couple of people running around the stands ...
on my way back, got approached my some mornons ... and this is a rough idea of what the conversation was ...

went back, and rented 2 DVDs - "Ghost In The Shell" (some sci-fi anime), and "Shark Tale" ... it's my sorta conviction not to download the movies from the net before viewing them first ... stop piracy (well, justa bit)

Dear teens :)
How are you all? Sure miss you all alot.
Am in shanghai, safe and sound. Learning Hebrews here hee... Went adventuring, the place is pretty messy lots of honking bicycles. Traffic lights are like useless here. The most dangerous thing here is crossing roads.
The weather is pretty wet here, been raining cats and dogs.
The church people here are nice and friendly. I do alot of marketing with Mrs Soh. We cook lunch in church and have it after service. The Sohs brought me around with Pastor Kenethham and Bro Kennedy from Mount Calvary in North Carolina. Bro Kennedy is my Hebrew teacher. I learn Hebrew
everyday. Its quite fun : )
I took public bus with the church ladies here and went shopping with them.
everything is so cheap.. manicure here is only S$2, however everything also must bargain. Can be quite tiring
I am living alone in an apartment , Bro Kennedy live in the 16th floor while I stay in the 6th, its quite safe here and there are security guards at the lobby .

we had lunch at the coffeeshop nearby, in which I ordered "Mince Pork Noodles" and shared a bowl of dumplings with Junxiong ... the noodles were GREAT ! the pork slice wasn't dry at all, and the noodles were just right ... *slurp*
and it seems that there was some sorta 20% discount when you pay by POSB, so the entrance fee costs only $13 ... =)
after putting all of our baggies in the locker, we wasted no time and hopped onto the first ride ... it's sorta like a tea-cup thingy, which I thought only the seat and whole thing would just rotate very fast ... but I didn't expect it to go UP, and I mean very high UP ! felt a few Gs at first, but after a while it got ok (thanks God) ... I haven't sat such rides in ages, and had freaky experiences back then when I was younger ...
next, we sat the "Viking Ship", in which we took the corner-most seat ... Keli was sitting on my left, and no way could I show any fear in my expression (cannot lose face) ... it started off fine at first, but when it got SO HIGH ... one can really feel the weightless effect ! i tried not to grip onto the handlebars too tightly to just feel the Gs and get used to them, and suprisingly it was rather OK ! hahaz~
feeling a little victorious over the mini-conquest over my fears, I wanted to take on as many rides as possible ... went to some cart-ride in the dark, in which it was 4 to a cart ... I was behind with Junxiong, while Keli sat in fron with Agnus ... the cart climbed up to a great height at first, and I thought it was going to zoom all the way down ... braced myself for the decent, and thankfully there wasn't any fall from that height ! *phew*
after the ride, we quickly proceeded to queue for the Go-Kart in which all 7 of us raced together ... I took the first one, and maintained the lead for the 1st round ... but it didn't have much horsepower to climb up the spiral ramp, leaving me to watch Keli overtake me slowly from the outer lane ... I tried to get the lead back, and stepped on it on my way down, even doing a little drift-thingy to overtake her at the outer-lane of the right-turn at the bottom of the slope (inspired by Initial D), but it seemed that I was no Takumi ...
it rained right after our turn on the Go-Kart, and so we went to the game stores portion to take cover ... after the rain, I sat the "Pepsi-Cola" ride with Zhiyang, in which it was a little like our first ride, only that you get to flip 360 degrees in the air ... tried about 3 times ? but when I sat with Junxiong, he didn't look too good when we finally got a chance to flip a whole 360 degrees turn while going down !
we went to Go-Kart again, and I took a new #27 kart which was blazing fast ! you can feel yourself going to the sides whenever you take a turn ... can do a little drift too ! sweet~
the girls wanted to get wet in some ride that resembles the one in Haw Par Villa, and so I sat the Viking ship twice to kill time ... I sorta got numb to the ride by then I guess ... hahaz~
to finish off the day, we went into the Haunter Mansion ... the girls went in before already, but Agnus realised that it was differnt from when they last went in ! the guys took the lead, with the girls following behind with buried head ... lolz~

I REFER to "To those who killed Lingwu" (July 7). A friend rescued a kitten (picture) in Pasir Ris Ave 1 and brought it to me for treatment. I saw an open sore on its backside and rushed it to my regular vet.
The vet confirmed that the tail had been cut off, leaving the gaping wound with the tail bone exposed.
This defenceless creature was too tiny to cause any harm. This act of cruelty is a symptom of a "sick" society that is inclined towards violence. The next victim of this perpetrator may not be an animal.
I THINK the person who killed Lingwu ought to be severely punished. I had a similar heart-breaking experience not too long ago. As my boyfriend and I were coming down the stairs, we saw two boys aged between 8 and 10 years beating a 2-month-old kitten. My boyfriend screamed at them as they were about to throw the kitten into a bin. They fled.
The kitten was so badly injured that I dared not pick it up. It was dying and blood was oozing from its eyes, ears and nose. Not one passerby — and there were many — had stopped the kids from thrashing the poor kitten. Patrons sitting at the coffee shop a few metres away just looked on. Would we sit and watch if this was our child getting beaten?

signed in at the gate entrance, and HAN called to ask where Soon Kiat was ... and just nice, he was just walking inside from the gate entrace ... on arrival, we had a mini-door gift of a key-chain before going into the auditorium to watch "Batman" (in which the 3 PTIs smoked out) ... we went to the canteen for breakfast first, before heading to the pool for a dip ...
here's what we did for the 2hrs in the water ...
(1) practice blowing the FOX40 whistle
(2) tie a rope across the pool as a divider
(3) blow & tie balloons to the rope
(4) blow balloons with water inside
(5) try to balance on top of a giant ball
we also had a short briefing on the games to be played later, (1) river-crossing, (2) captain ball, (3) treasure hunt ... the river crossing game objective was to cross from one end of the pool to another, using chairs ... more difficult to do it in the water (and you can splash your opponents too) ... playing captain ball in the water with a giant ball was crazy ! they had a game of specialists vs officers too (in which the specialists won) ... lolz~ the treasure hunt was to go hunt for coloured marbles in the pool bottom, and collect them in the specified colour/amount, EG: 5 blue, 3 pink, 8 purple, 4 yellow, 6 green ... it was a frenzy ! not to mention throwing dry people into the water too ... even in number-four uniform ! hahaz~
our "unit flower", LTA Serene Tan was there too & wearing a 2-piece suit ... *ahem*
went to Yishun to look at some 2nd-hand XBOX games with HAN, in which he bought a memory card ... i was browsing throught the titles for quite a while ...

he was cutting half-way & telling me what suits my hair when he said "hey, wanna try something ?" the final result was the top a little shorter, and to style it down instead of my usual style of making it all stand (he calls it the lazy-way) ... then returned my DVD which I loaned ...
in the mid-afternoon, jenny came reporting of beckham in NYP (she's working there), and commenting of the crowd and numerous security guards ... it's because of the OIC that they're here, and probably near City Hall area later on ...

lugged a heavy bag of everything & a box of "want-want" biscuits for the prowlers as night snack for duty later on ... HEAVY~! brought my CV as I'm meeting Shirley & Litwei for "Batman" tomorrow ... haven't meet up with them since I entered NS (they were my course-mates, and now in a mobile-gaming company) ...was doing duty half-day in the early evening when we heard loud BOOM BOOM noises coming from outside ... went to take a peek and discovered an amazing sight in the night sky ... they were fireworks for the IOC ! =)
went down to check it out with the DO, and saw 4 gals surrounding a laptop at the Esplanade Park, with one of them dressed in red who's not bad looking ... suddenly had an urge to go down to "check on the guys later" ... hahaz~
played monopoly during NDP duty, and lost terribly ... thought the gane will take forever to finish, but little did I know that it'll be over in around 2hrs for me ... hahaz~

immediately took half-day leave to go home and slack ... played "Need For Speed" and i finally mastered how to drift around right-angled corners (hand-brake drift) ... look at he diagram below ... =)
you'll have to get a decent speed, and start turning the wheel at the *, and hold the handbrake for about a half second to one second ... aim for the inside of the turn at X so that when the car's tail swirves around, you can have room to control it ... this will send the tail around, and you will need to increase the throttle and countersteer ... cool huhz ?
