sorry guys, it's been so long since I last updated ! busy because i have to give remedial training to a new intake of recruits fresh from BMT at night ...

during a night out with the guys, we went over to Sunshine Plaza & Park Lane to look at 2 Gundam Model Shops ... i couldn't resist buying one to fix up in the office to kill time ... I got for myself a 1:100 Gundam Astray Red Frame ...

i thought it would be pretty tough, but I managed to finished it up in a day !

this is how it looks like ! i bought model-paint too (oh man, i hope i dun get too hardcore in this) ...

the truth is, i wouldn't have bought it if not for the samurai sword in it's hand ...

My First Shot At Leading Men

0 comments   Tuesday, September 20, 2005

woke up early in the morning at 6am for an orientation run for the new intake of privates for the various batterys ... HAN got up first, while SK & I were still sound asleep until he turned the lights on ...

got changed quickly, and proceeded downstairs to face a horde of new men for us to toy with ... *grinz* HAN did the warmup first, and wanted to "whack" them first as an introduction ...

ok, all half-left position DOWN !

but he soon realised that the BC was down in his fours too, so he no choice had to join in with the pushups (we included) ... for the orientation run, HAN led HQ Battery, SK led Alpha Battery while I led Bravo Battery ... we basically ran around the whole camp and introduced the various places as we went along, and it's quite an experience to lead men and rather fun too ! they echo your every word & do what you say ...

--------------
Tim: "Bravo, where's your timing ? I want a timer ..."
Timer: "Left, Right, Left, Right ..."

Tim: "Bravo, this place is called the XXX !"
Bravo: "XXX !"
Tim: "Alright, follow me !"
--------------

later part of the day, we did the training program for our own batch of recruits for the next year, and assembled our gundam models that we bought the previous day ... can't wait to paint mine, Gundam Astray (i dun watch Gundam, but they look kinda kewl) ...

when it was time, quickly changed and went for frisbee ... it rained at first, but believing that it will stop, I went in great faith ... and the rain stopped ! but upon reaching there, I realised that they weren't enough poeple to start a game ... so disappointing ! everyone's tired after the Opens i guess ... not only that, I sprained my left thumb while trying to do a fanciful catch ...

argh~ BAD DAY !

Phones At Home

0 comments   Monday, September 19, 2005

i left my phone at home, felt so lost without it ! and what can beat the great news, tomorrow's orientation run start at 6 AM IN THE WEE MORNING !!! 0_o"

gamed Winning Eleven 9 on the PS2 with my invincible Man-Utd, until HAN decided to use Dortmund with Jan Koller ... very tough match indeed, with SK giving live commentary and the cardre specs watching ... i had plenty of shots, but was beaten 2-0 by Jan Koller headers TWICE (and the 2m tall giant didn't even had to jump) ... -_-"

went out with the rest of the guys for dinner at West Mall (we deciced to stay in as it was far too early to book in in the morning), and had quite a bit of fun ! ate dinner at KFC, and had a first-hand experience of Ke-Jin's feriocious appetite (he had 2 pieces of chicken, 3 whipped potatoes, 1 pop-corn chicken, 1 cheese fries and 1 regular coke) ...

we stopped over at Comics Connection first, and HAN bought a Gundam Model under the influence of Yuyuan ... it triggered a chain reaction among us and we bought different model each to fix at the office ...

next, some of the guys went to get their hair-cut, while I went around with Ke-Jin ... stopped over at World Of Sports to get a hand-pump, but I ended up signing up with their membership too @ $38 ... had a free spalding basketball, sports water-bottle, bag, socks, and the card entitles 15% discount ...

after that, they went to the arcade to kill time ... I went with Terry to settle our library fines (after 6-7 years, i finally can borrow books again), and I borrowed 2 web-design books ... will do up a new design for this blog when I get enough inspiration ... =)

SOC, Sibey Jialat ...

0 comments   Tuesday, September 13, 2005

early in the morning, we conducted an SOC lesson for the specialists who were in a course to prepare them for the recruits that were going to arrive in a few more days time ... it's my first time teaching, so HAN let me teach them on how to jump off from the landing platform, and the pointers to take note when teaching their recruits next time ... Su-Kiat on the other hand touched on how deep the soil should be loosened for each obstacle, and he did it pretty well IMO for such a stale topic ...

after that, it was my chief's show ... he brought the specs from the 1st obstacle of the SOC (low wall) till the last obstacle (ramp), and did pick up a few pointers by watching him ... after that, it was the specs turn to practice teaching with some of them being "actors" for the recruits ... the funnie part was the Jacob's Ladder (a pyramid of horitontal logs spaced apart) until they reached the peak of the obstacle, and realised that it was rather difficult when you do it so slowly, and got stuck ! i even noticed some woobly legs ! hahaz~ after that, they challenged the rest to walk up the obstacle slowly and see if it was scary or not ... =P

there was also a dog who followed us around the SOC ground, and even wanted me to play (it keep running to me, hitting it's face on my leg before running away to taunt me to chase it or something) ...

-----------------
Specs: hey, PTI ! the dog taunt you to chase it leh ...
Tim: .......
-----------------

spent the rest of the day playing Winning Eleven 9 on the PS2, and even renamed 3 teams to their english names ... it's much easier to foul now, so you got to really time your tackles well !

ultimate pickup was good too, scored quite a fair bit with good cuts ... talked more with Raphel too (a PE teacher with his ultimate team named SHIEOK) ... didn't play at all last week, and had quite a good workout running around ... got the Singapore Ultimate Opens 2005 details too, it's 17/9(Sat) - 18/9(Sun) at West Coast Park !

World Cyber Games 2005 - Opening

0 comments   Thursday, September 08, 2005

went to camp early in the morning to conduct "Combat PT 1" course for some of the specialists of 21SA ... my chief (HAN) took all of them at first for a warmu-up of 80 pushups ! like the look of disbelief on theif faces when he said that ... hahaz~ after that, he gave an introduction to all the basic stretching exercises, and then on to CPT 1 ... but he pulled his hamstring halfway, so SK and I took over for the rest of the lesson ...

next, it was their turn to practice conducting ... we split the group into 3, and took a group each ... I finished rather too early, so sent them to have a water break ... hahaz~ dunch know whether i'm efficient or slack ... =P

spent the rest of the day playing Need For Speed Underground with the rest of the guys on the PS2, before realising that it was over 5pm ! quickly changed and rush out of camp ...

I had deciced to pop by Suntec City first to grab my goodie bag before heading down for ultimate at Clarke Quay (which was a major mistake) ... it forgot one thing about us Singaporean - KIASU ! YOU WON'T BELIEVE THE QUEUE !

well, someone took this on and posted it on the net, and I managed to find myself in there !

Can you find me ? (reminds me of the "Where's Wally" book)

Tada~ here I am with my orange beuter bag !

All ready and setup for some gaming madness !

and after waiting for what it seems like eternity, the queue finally got moving ... can't wait to see what's in the goodie bag, and get the official game pass for the event !

the barracuda passes (i like the shiny coloured strap) ...

when it was finally my turn, the "get fragged" tee was out, so had to settle for one by Creative ... here's my tag !

finally got my hands on you ...

gotta train hard tomorrow .. *vroom vroom*

Rock Climbing Evening

0 comments   Tuesday, September 06, 2005

supposed met up with Keli & Serina at Yishun MRT at 5:15pm before meeting the rest at 6pm, Tanjor Pagar MRT Station ... but somehow there was some misunderstanding ... Aunty Susan probably didn't think that I was coming or something, so I did not get the SMS from her to meet at Yishun, 5pm ...

anyway, Shemaine was nowhere to be found when we reached, so we went to a coffeeshop opposite the climbing centre to makan dinner first ... had economic rice, and the uncle recommended "the meal ball very nice) and took 2 for me, and next he was saying "why so little vegetables" (i had 1 vege-dish), so he gave me 1 more choice of vegetables free ! so I ended up with Rice + 5 dishes for $2.60 !!! *big grin*

belayed the rest to climb first, before taking my turn at the wall ... the inclined one's pretty easy, so I tried the slightly protruding one and with a blue coloured route at another wall ... pretty tough at the ending, cause you gotta jump and reach ... tried 2 times, but always got stuck at the last rock ... =(

Mission blue Route: FAILED

rock-climbing is tough on the forearms muscles (flexor muscles), and don't think I can reallie grap anything tomorrow ... can't even grap the board to do a pullup at the climbing centre just now too !

WAH~ The Need For Speed - World Cyber Games 2005 Competition is coming up !

need to begin training so that I dun lose face or get kicked out so early ... =x

MBC Dedication Service

0 comments   Saturday, September 03, 2005

it's MBC's building decication service today, and we went there earlier to practice ... met up with a guy from Hardwarezone to get Guild Wars (the cds, manual, account) for $45 when it costs near to $90!

(what a steal !)

after that, went with Junxiong to eat Tepanyaki at Northpoint foodcourt while Keli went to walk around ... haldway while eating, I realised that i forgot to bring my kapo for my guitar ! frantically tried to ask who has one, but it appears that no one has ... no choice but had to go down to Junction-8 to get one ... T_T

after some practice, it was almost time till the service starts ... went downstairs to usher in the guests in the car-park until the service had started ... it went well, except that JX and I were looking at a blank music stand with no score (we left it at our seats) ... hahaz~

oh, the notice board turned out pretty well from the artistic hand of Agnes (i spelt it correct time time hor) ... =)

Snow City + Pickup = Good Day

0 comments   Thursday, September 01, 2005

Part I

woke up early to go to Admiralty MRT to wait for the van to pick me up ... helping Aunty Susan & Bro Chai Joo with Heritage Learning Centre on their field trip to Snow City and McDonalds ...

taking care of children and playing with them is kinda fun actually (not for too long) ... had much fun with snowball fights with Agnus + Tim Lee, the children mainly Sebastian, Marcus and many others who started to war against me (too many of them and I can't remember all of their faces) ...

didn't go for the ice-sculpture workshop as I didn't want to waste Susan's $$$ and went to makan downstairs ... the auntie was so nice ! made hot my "lo mai kai" and "kong ba pau" specially for me ! well, it pays to chat with the aunties who sell you food once in a while ... =P

went upstairs are my meal to play pool with Tim Lee (it's his first time) and had a quick tutorial session ... he picked up really quickly so it didn't bore me to death as I had expected ... I took shots the hard way to waste time, in which he managed to pocket the black ball in the end due to an unsuspected tricky situation ... -_-"

at McDonalds, had a chance to cary Daniel, Pastor Sng baby boy ... he's close to a year now, and had no qualms to let me carry him around to play !

Part II

went back and trained on "Need For Speed" ... tuned both cars Toyota Corolla AE86 and Nissan Skyline first (i customised both of them to look like the cars in Initial D that belonged to Takumi Fujiwara & Keisuke Takahashi)

Takumi Fujiwara's Hachi Roku (Trueno AE86) !

Keisuke Takahashi's FD !

and found out that the AE86 is slower in acceleration but better at bending curves, while the Nissan Skyline for the straighter tracks ...

GREAT COMBO !!!

but I think i shall get myself attuned to another car, probably the Evoluion ... the circuit tracks next to clock my timings for the map Dockside till it's a consistent 1:45 min ... it was raining by then, but it stopped at 5pm ! so I decided to go by faith that there will be pickup today ... *twists fingers*

and to my suprise, that place looked as if it didn't rain at all ! oh trusty field~ *pat pat*

scored plenty today, and whites practically dominated all the way ! someone whom I had been playing with finally asked for my name though, and started talking to me ... T_T

also chatted up with an ang-mo babe who approached me after the game ... found out the she's actually from England, and currently touring around Asia for 8 weeks total (she's going back end of next week, but will be here for next Tuesday) ... we kinda had difficulty understanding each other's accents and keep asking "huh ???" ... hahaz~

tomorrow got to go down Amoy Kwee Camp to conduct warm-up for a run, and that means I've probably gotta run too ...

AHM's NEXT WEEK !!! HOW ???

gotta run more ...
